What is the best time of year to go on a walking holiday to France ?
Spring, starting from early April, May and June and the Autumn months of September and October and early November are the nicest times of the year to go on walking holidays in France. During the main summer months of July and August it is too hot for walking with temperatures reaching 40 degrees centigrade. The Spring and Autumn months offer the best climate for walking. Spring with everything bursting into life is a fantastic time of year and Autumn with its still balmy evenings and wonderful colours of the changing countryside is a favourite with us.

Can we walk unguided ?
Absolutely. We are happy to organise your walking holiday to suit your requirements. If you wish to walk unguided we can supply you with detailed maps, and gpx files for your gps.

My partner does not wish to walk every day ?
Not a problem, you can join in as much or as little of the weekly walking itinerary as you wish. If there are days you wish to just sit back and relax around the pool or just stroll down to the peaceful river then you can do just that. Make use of the lovely facilities at Lavaud.

I am a single person, will I have to share a room ?
You will have a room to yourself and will not have to share. We do not charge a single person supplement.

I am a vegetarian can you cater for me?
We are happy to cater for vegetarians, in fact one of our chefs is vegetarian and will provide you with a balanced vegetarian diet during your stay.

Are your maps well marked as we would like to walk unguided ?
Yes we provide detailed maps, and the routes we walk are well marked.

If we decide to change the distance we walk daily is this a problem ?
Not at all. If you wish to walk 5km or up to 20km our daily routes are adaptable and changeable to suit you.

Can I walk in trainers or do I need walking boots ?
All of our routes can be walked in trainers if you should wish.
